The Jackson McIntosh Carter Foundation is pleased to have presented the first Jackson Carter Kindness Award to Rogers High School senior, Emma Flager.
During the 2021-22 school year, Emma learned of the illness of a classmate and the challenges his family faced. She humbly jumped into action; first, attending an
early graduation celebration for the student, and then organizing a car parade to bring cheer to the student and his family. Sadly, her classmate passed away, but Emma continued to support his family by raising funds through a bake sale for a Memorial bench to be placed at the gravesite. One of the nominators wrote,(she) “did all of this out of the kindness of her heart. She did not ask for any kind of recognition. She only wanted to help the family.”
Emma was presented the award at the RHS Scholarship Banquet this past May. We are excited to recognize and honor our inaugural recipient who has most certainly demonstrated Jackson’s spirit of generosity and kindness. Emma, thank you for continuing to ‘be the light’ that Jackson always was.
